At First Baptist Church, South Glens Falls, One Mission • Five Teams is more than a ministry structure—it is a discipleship pathway designed to help people encounter Jesus Christ, experience transformation, grow in faith, and live on mission for His glory.
At the center of everything is one unchanging truth: Forgiven. Because of Jesus. Sent like Jesus. Everything we do flows from the Gospel. We are people who have been transformed by the grace of Christ and are now called to live, serve, and go in His name. The mission is not simply to build ministries—it is to help people encounter Jesus and walk the pathway of transformation.
The journey often begins with Restoring Hope. In a world marked by brokenness, discouragement, and uncertainty, we believe people need the hope found only in Jesus Christ. Through outreach, relationships, and Gospel-centered ministry, we seek to share God’s love and invite people into the hope of the Gospel. Restoring hope means helping people see that no life is beyond the reach of God’s grace and no story is beyond His redemption.
As people encounter Christ and begin their journey, we move toward Repairing Hearts.
Life leaves wounds. People carry burdens, grief, disappointment, and spiritual struggles. The church is called to walk alongside others with compassion, grace, and truth. Through prayer, care, encouragement, and shepherding relationships, we help create an environment where people experience healing, support, and the love of Christ.
As healing begins, we commit ourselves to Rebuilding Lives. Transformation does not stop at salvation. Jesus calls people to grow, mature, and become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through discipleship, biblical teaching, mentoring, community, and intentional spiritual growth, we help rebuild lives upon the truth of God’s Word so believers are strengthened, equipped, and prepared for Kingdom service.
Yet the mission does not end with personal growth. We are called to Reveal Jesus.
Everything we do ultimately points people to Him. We desire to make Christ known so others may follow Him, grow in Him, and live for Him. Through worship, witness, service, and daily faithfulness, we seek to reflect the character, truth, and love of Jesus to our church, community, and world.
Together these ministry expressions create a clear discipleship pathway: Community → Conversion → Growth → Maturity → Mission
This is how the teams function together.
Together they form: One Mission • Five Teams: A pathway where: Hope is restored, Hearts are repaired, Lives are rebuilt, Jesus is revealed. Because we are: Forgiven because of Jesus & Sent like Jesus.
